Domaine de Fumel is pleased to be offering, throughout the months of April and October, 7 night holidays based around a 5 day walking theme. Everything is organised for your comfort and enjoyment on this special walking holiday week, all from one home base in our lovely gites - so no packing of your cases and moving on to yet another hotel!
Routes will be meticulously planned for scenery and points of interest whilst gentle exercise and fresh air will be plentiful. We have so much to visit here; enjoy guided walks along the banks of the Dordogne and through gently undulating farmland and vineyards with stunning views, walk around historic fortified towns, villages and chateaux.. En-route we can stop off at a local café for hot chocolate or a tasty and inexpensive lunch, or if the sunshine is irresistible, we can buy some local produce and picnic in a beauty spot.
Return “home” every evening exhausted but happy in time to bath and change and eat delicious food at a local restaurant or stay in, either cooking your own or put your feet up and have a microwave meal. We also offer one communal evening dinner with wine and fun.
Each holiday will be tailored to suit the levels of fitness of our clients, please tell us in advance (be honest!) what level you are looking for. The weather conditions pertaining at the time of the holiday will also affect the choice of walks
Drive down in your own car at your leisure, take a low-cost flight to Bergerac airport or the train to Bergerac station, we will collect and return you there and transport you in comfort each day to the start of the walks. Time off for shopping and doing nothing if required!
Start the holiday whichever day suits you best, midweek or week-end to take advantage of the flight prices. Come on your own or as a couple to join in the fun or book all the cottages as a group. Extra days can be booked on a pro-rata basis to suit your travel arrangements.
Self-catering accommodation for 7 nights, transfer from & to the airport or station if required, 5 days of guided walking in a 7 day period with transport to and from the walks, transport once to a large supermarket at Bergerac for stocking up on provisions (Issigeac with local shopping is about 4Km away) and one evening communal dinner with wine.
The price for this over a 7 day period will be £660 per couple.
Extra days will be on a pro-rata basis, extra communal dinners may just happen, transport to local restaurants can always be persuaded out of us, and joining in the fun in the evenings is not obligatory.
