Once part of the original farmhouse, converted by the previous owners to create a dining room and kitchen, the ground floor and original attic space has been converted into our latest gîte "La Résistance". La Résistance takes its name from the Second World War, where it was a hiding place for the Resistance fighters, who were secreted away in the attic.
La Résistance offers a spacious bedroom with a 1.85 metre bed to sleep 2, a double wardrobed dressing room and a spacious bathroom with a large walk-in shower, grand slipper bath, hand basin & loo. Downstairs the well-equipped kitchen area has all the normal facilities with dishwasher and washing machine: the remainder of the ground floor is given to a large lounge area featuring a lovely old stone sink with exposed stone walls to the window above. Patio doors lead out to a private covered terrace to give shade and views of the lovely sunsets.
Upstairs there is a beatifully appointed and carpeted bedroom with a super kingsized bed, 1.85M. Looking out through the door to the Juliet balcony the view is over the front lawns and vineyard to the far distant panorama. A small window also affords a lovely view over the vineyard.
Downstairs, the modern lounge dining room has a window
over the old stone sink with lovely views beyond. There are patio doors
leading out onto a covered terrace, which takes full advantage of the beautiful
sunsets. The dining chairs and table are local country antiques.
From the bedroom through the dressing room, a door leads into the bathroom with its window overlooking the swimming pool. The bathroom has a 1.2M shower cubicle, a stylish bath, wash hand-basin and toilet.
For those hot summer days and lazy evenings, al-fresco lunch or dining under the au-vent
